Actuator Installation & Commissioning for a New 12,000 m³ Drinking Water Reservoir

Installation · Commissioning · Drinking Water Treatment

Installation and commissioning of 9× AUMA electric actuators on butterfly valves at a newly constructed 12,000 m³ reservoir within a municipal drinking water treatment plant.

The project involved mounting 4× SA 07.6 actuators on AVK DN600 butterfly valves with gearboxes and 5× SA 07.2 actuators on AVK DN450 butterfly valves with gearboxes. For each unit, our engineers adjusted the mechanical indicator gearbox ratio, configured the torque and end-position limits, and completed the electrical connection to the site control panels.

Scope of Work

  1. Mounting of 4× SA 07.6 actuators on AVK DN600 butterfly valves with gearboxes
  2. Mounting of 5× SA 07.2 actuators on AVK DN450 butterfly valves with gearboxes
  3. Mechanical indicator gearbox ratio adjustment for each actuator
  4. Torque and end-position limit configuration across all 9 units
  5. Electrical connection and integration with site control panels

Proper actuator-to-valve matching goes beyond bolt patterns. Adjusting the mechanical indicator ratio ensures the position display accurately reflects actual valve travel — a detail often overlooked during installation that can lead to incorrect readings and operational risk downstream.
